Paradise is a beautiful and peaceful community nestled in the northern foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains just above Chico, CA. The elevation of Paradise ranges from 1800 feet to 2300 feet above sea level, so the weather is usually very mild. This puts it above the fog line in the winter, where it may get a sprinkling of snow, just enough to make the pine trees sparkle. It is also usually cooler than the valley in the summer. There are many small lakes in the area with creeks running down to the valley.

Once known as a "Retirement Community," Paradise is now attracting younger families who have a desire to buy real estate as they realize what a wonderful area this is to raise a family. Housing is affordable with most homes having enough land for children to run and play. There are excellent schools in the area as well as active Boys & Girls Clubs, youth groups, and many service organizations. Paradise also has an excellent First-Time Homebuyers Program.

Paradise has a very active Theater and Arts community with many outstanding activities and performances throughout the year. There is always something exciting to see, whether it's at the Gold Nugget Days, Johnny Appleseed Days, or Cruisin' Paradise just to name a few. Paradise is also famous for its many antique stores.

As you continue traveling up the Skyway, you will enter Magalia. This area is growing quickly as more people become enamored with the peacefulness and climate of the ridge. Much of Magalia is in The Pines POA, which provides its members with a clubhouse, pool, tennis courts, and playground at a nominal yearly fee. Above Magalia is DeSabla and Stirling City. These areas are a great attraction for fishermen in the summer and snow activities in the winter.
